Maximum Black
Built for speed, it packs one hell of a punch
Our Maximum Black was created with a specific brief in mind. We were asked to build a light and racy custom frame, and we were only too happy to oblige.
Built around large section, shaped tubing – a combination of Columbus Max and Life tubesets – the frame delivers brilliant stiffness between the head tube, BB and rear dropouts. The slender, lightweight seatstays and a tapered top tube boost the overall comfort of the ride.
To keep the weight down, we used TIG welding on the majority of the joins, with a tiny fillet braze between the seat stays for extra strength.The result is a road bike designed with a single purpose in mind; ‘maximum stiffness, minimum weight.’
It is finished in our tough, but softly-textured Drenched Black finish.
