Bespoked
It’s a wrap
The team are back from another Bespoked Handmade Bicycle Show, and what a show it was. Along with the usual ooh-ing and ah-ing over lustrous paintwork and feats of engineering wizardry, we enjoyed meeting up with a whole host of folks – both new faces and firm friends.
It was nice to see that the newly specced Black Nylon caught the eye of Brooks England, wearing as it was a newly-minted Cambium All-Weather Saddle with matching bar tape. Their write-up from the show is over on their blog if you care to check it out.
Included here are some more of the gorgeous shots their photographer, Jim Holland, took of our Black Nylon.

Vive the Velorution
We’re delighted to partner with fellow Londoners and bespoke cycling enthusiasts, Velorution, and especially glad to see that one of our riders was featured in their recent ‘Velorutionaries’ series.
Here’s the chat they had with Richard – VFX supervisor at The Mill and staunch London commuter – which was originally published in Velorution Magazine.
What do you do for a living?
I am a VFX supervisor and compositor at The Mill. I mainly work on commercials and music videos, advising agencies and directors from the storyboard stage to air date.
What are you passionate about?
I love, and have always loved, anything to do with bikes and helicopters right from an early age. Learning to fly was something I just needed to prove to myself, but cycling is part of my everyday life.
How long have you been a cyclist?
Since school age. I was lucky enough to grow up in Jersey when it was a lot safer to cycle on the roads, so if I wasn’t cycling to school I was out on my bike with my friends.
What bike are you riding?
I ride a Black single speed ColourBolt designed and built by the wonderful Jay Pond Jones and his team. Jay was the creative director on an ad I worked on, and during that time we discovered our mutual love for bikes. After a quick visit to see the range of bikes he had already designed it took me about a minute to be convinced to buy one. This is a bike you never sell.
What appeals most to you about cycling?
It’s the only thing that consistently keeps me fit. Most of my job warrants me sitting down for long periods of time, and going to the gym isn’t always an option, but cycling home at the end of a hard day is a great stress reliever – it saves me from the joy of staring at someone’s arm pit on the tube!
How often do you ride?
I ride everyday from West London to work and back, and as much as I can at the weekend. I have always encouraged my two boys to cycle, which makes getting the whole family out easier.
What’s your favourite cycle route or destination?
After a full week on the busy city roads my eldest and I like to get out into the country. We’ve enjoyed Burnham beeches and Black Park but are always looking for new places to explore.

Vulpine
Bespoke build for Vulpine's Nick Hussey
When the founder of bike apparel brand Vulpine decided he needed the ultimate commuter bike, he chose the right place to look - Colourbolt. Nick wanted something that looked slick and felt smooth, we set him up with Andy from Kinoko for a personalised fitting and induction. Nick got to grips with our individual brand and meticulously chose parts which would work around his style and commute. Next we took a trip to Coventry to meet up with the muscle behind the metal, Lee Cooper. 6 weeks later, Nick took his new personalised build for a spin around Soho — a very happy ColourBolt customer.
Robin Hacker-Cary

Bespoked
Bespoked is here, and so is our latest custom build
We love getting out and about with our collection and 2014 is no different. There’s nothing we enjoy more than hanging around, checking out the latest custom build, drinking coffee and talking about bikes.
We've been gearing up for Bespoked with Doctor D, aka Rohan Dubash, who has been building-up our latest handmade XCR road bike. The Lee Cooper frame is pretty special. Stop off at our central space in the Velodrome and take a look for yourselves.
Bespoked is the UK's biggest handmade bicycle show and is a great opportunity to come and get a feel for the workmanship that goes into a bespoke bike. If you're thinking about your own custom build and can make it to Bristol then be sure to stop by our stand. If you're not going to be at Bespoked in person you can always view our entire collection of frames and finishes online.

Spin London
Where better to show off a custom bicycle than London's newest urban cycling show?
The first Spin London was a huge success. ColourBolt are pleased to welcome the fresh bike convention to our home town, many local friends of ours dropped by. We also showed off the latest custom bicycle in our range.
The purpose of Spin London is to really focus in on the urban cycling scene by embracing the most stylish and forward-thinking brands from around the world. They aim to promote smaller independent makers of urban bikes – like our Ratty Black.
The new ColourBolt Drenched Black road bike gained lot's of attention. Available handbuilt to order. Please contact ColourBolt for details. Check out Road CC's review of our new model.

The London Bike Show
Made in England exhibit at the London Bike Show.
It's been a great start to 2013 with ColourBolt being chosen by Microsoft and Look Mum No Hands to be part of their Made In England exhibition, which celebrates our best UK frame builders.
Builders on show included Lee Cooper, who builds for ColourBolt, Tom Donhou, and the Made In England book’s authors Ricky Feather and Matthew Sowter. You can imagine, we were pretty proud that our Columbus XCR Mirror build was part of it.
